According to numerous esports media sources, Cloud9 will have a new lineup for the 2023 season as they sign Timur #buster Tulepov.
After their 2022 campaign at the IEM Rio Major ended, the team spent at least a month seeking for interz's replacement. Buster was one of the front-runners right away, but other players were also taken into consideration.
Meanwhile, Björn #THREAT Pers, who served as the Counter-Strike Technical Director for a year, has posted on Twitter that he is leaving Ninjas in Pyjamas.
One Ninja Less
The Swede transitioned into coaching the prior year on Acer before joining Ninjas in Pyjamas as their Head Coach in 2016. THREAT served the organization for two terms, from 2016 to 2018 and from 2020 to 2021, respectively, both as the team's manager.
He then switched to his most recent position, which concentrated on the tactical aspects of the game and assisting the squad outside of the server, creating room for Daniel “djL” Narancic, the current coach of Ninjas in Pyjamas.
Ninjas in Pyjamas have had a difficult year because they have undergone several changes and have found it difficult to become one of the best teams in the world. Despite their volatility, the squad often advanced in tournaments, finishing third or fourth in their most recent appearance at the BLAST Premier Fall Final 2022.
Prior to 2023, Ninjas in Pyjamas underwent a number of changes, including THREAT's departure from the squad. The team also just revealed the benching of Patrick #es3tag Hansen. According to recent sources, Daniil #headtr1ck Valitov, a former NAVI Junior AWPer, was signed by the Swedish organization to replace es3tag.
The future is uncertain for THREAT, but in his message on Twitter, he makes a hint that he would rather be a head coach than in his most recent position with Ninjas in Pyjamas.
Trying out a new role over the past year has been educational, but THREAT admitted that she misses working directly with a team and having a more immediate influence. I'm quite thrilled about the future chances in 2023.
Cloud9 Upgraded
The IEM Katowice tournament should be buster's first matchback on the server. The event's Play-in stage, which begins on January 31 and offers eight berths in the group stage, has asked Cloud9 to kick things off.
Buster will complete a six-month hiatus from competitive play with the transfer to Cloud9 after being benched in Outsiders after the PGL Major Antwerp concluded in late May.
He and Mareks #YEKINDAR Gainskis were replaced in the team by David #n0rb3r7 Danielyan and Petr #fame Bolyshev, but the Kazakhstani rifler's quest for a new location to call home was far longer than that of the Latvian.
