After releasing long-time player Brandon #Dashy Otell off the primary roster, OpTic Texas has been a hot topic on social media. OpTic Texas' failure to go past the group stage at the Call of Duty League Stage One Major back in December prompted this adjustment.
Since founding at the start of #Vanguard, the group formerly known as the “Atlanta FaZe Killers” has had trouble living up to their own standards.
OpTic now has its brand-new fourth. Cuyler #Huke Garland, a former player for the #DallasEmpire and #LosAngelesGuerrillas, completed the roster for the organization.
How it all started
OpTic Texas made Dashy and Indervir #iLLeY Dhaliwal publicly available for signing new players on August 17. One day later OpTic made the opposite decision, adding the pair back to the team just in time for the start of the Modern Warfare 2 season.
OpTic Texas has been evasive about their plans for roster changes ever since failing to advance to the playoffs at the Stage One Major. Dashy publicly admitted on streams that he had been fired, but the group as a whole kept quiet about it.
More whispers about prospective replacements for such a stellar talent started to circulate. Alec #Arcitys Sanderson, a former member of the Chicago Huntsmen, was the subject of many tweets, while Amer #Pred Zulbeari of the Seattle Surge was not left out either.
Pred will not be joining OpTic Texas, though, as was confirmed shortly after the rumors began. The player later confirmed this when he told his followers that an agreement between the two parties could not be reached.
Houston, We Seem To Not Have a Problem
Following his brief departure from the Los Angeles Guerrilas following the holiday break, Huke has now earned a starting position with one of the most illustrious teams in Call of Duty history.
Additionally, he will be rejoining with Anthony #Shotzzy Cuevas-Castro and iLLeY, two of his previous teams with whom he won his first World Championship ring on Dallas Empire in 2020.
Huke's prior interactions with OpTic players will probably be relied upon by the team to help the new squad rapidly form a bond. They will face the Boston Breach in their Stage Two Major qualifiers on Jan. 15, giving them just one week to prepare.
