After one of the most popular Call of Duty games ever, Modern Warfare 2, the 2023 Call of Duty League season is set to be an unforgettable one. The league and Call of Duty players have to agree on a set of regulations each year. Rules are occasionally upheld by the league, while others are upheld by the participants through a “Gentleman's Agreement.” Additionally, after a while, these agreements may even turn into formal guidelines.
The formal rules for this year were made public on November 7. They detail the modes and maps that will be used, the weapons and equipment that can be used, as well as the parameters and guidelines for each mode. Since then, as the 2023 season has progressed, there have been numerous regulation modifications and iterations.

CDL 2023 modes and maps
1. Hardpoint
Hardpoint is a game where two teams compete for possession of a single rotating point on the map. The team in charge receives points for holding the hill. There will be a Hardpoint game on:
- Al bagra Fortress
- Breenburgh Hotel
- Embassy
- Mercado Las Almas
- Zarqwa Hydroelectric
Five minutes are allotted for each Hardpoint battle, but when a Hardpoint is controlled or locked, the timer does not advance. The winner is the first to 250 points. The next zone is unveiled ten seconds before the current zone expires. Each zone lasts one minute.
2. Control
Teams try to take possession of two zones in possession without exhausting their supply of respawns first. Defenders must prevent attackers from taking possession of both zones before the time limit runs out in order for their team to win a round or reduce the other team's life total. On which control will be used:

- El Asilo
Control lasts for one minute and 30 seconds per round. A zone can be fully taken over in 45 seconds, and capturing one grants the attacking squad an extra minute. With 30 respawns per squad.
3. Search and Destroy
While the other team protects the potential sites, one team in Search and Destroy tries to set up and detonate a bomb at one of the two possible locations. Search and Destroy is going to be shown on:
- Al Bagra Fortress
- Breenburgh Hotel
- Embassy
- El Asilo
- Mercado Las Almas
